Reports out of Washington, D.C., are saying a suspicious package potentially including an explosive device was located near the White House on Thursday with the Secret Service and a police bomb squad responding to the scene.

Next News Network White House Correspondent Ty McCullough reported the suspicious package was found near the Eisenhower Executive Building, which is just across the street from the Oval Office.

“The bomb squad and police are clearing it now… The White House has stopped all visitors, they shut down Pennsylvania Avenue in front of it.”

In an 𝕏 post, the outlet announced the situation was clear, writing, “All clear! God bless the secret service!! Amazing work. Video from RT showing the outside scene with police presence at WH. We couldn’t leave to take videos, but glad all clear. Officially Pennsylvania Avenue back open for visitors.”

According to D.C. freelance journalist Andrew Leyden, the suspicious package was a backpack belonging to a man who was arrested near the White House.

As this is a developing situation, this article will be updated when more information becomes available.
