The number of ‘gotaways’ sneaking into the U.S. has dropped dramatically from Biden-era highs, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
During Fiscal Year 2023, more than 1,800 illegal aliens were crossing U.S. borders every day without being apprehended, at least initially.
That daily average has been reduced to just 77 in the last three weeks.
“Over a 95% decrease in the average number of gotaways per day under President Trump and Secretary Noem–and the work is not done yet,” DHS announced on Friday.

Conservative estimates indicate more than 2 million known gotaways entered the U.S. during the Biden years – and an untold number of unknown gotaways slipped in, as well.
“Americans hear the term ‘got away’ (or gotaways) and assume the expression applies to all aliens who are not caught by, or don’t surrender to, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), having entered the United States illegally,” federal insider Hart Celler told InfoWars.
“However, it’s a term and has a specific definition in law. 6 U.S.C. § 223(a)(3) defines one as ‘an unlawful border crosser who is directly or indirectly observed making an unlawful entry into the [U.S.]; is not apprehended; and is not a turn back.'”
“There’s a second group colloquially referred to as ‘unknown gotaways,’ the technical name for which is an Undetected Unlawful Entry. Both groups, when arrested by ICE, are classified as having ‘entered the United States at an unknown place and time,'” he explained.
Last month, USBP released a short film called “The Gotaway” which was apparently shot more than four years ago but never saw the light of day under the Biden administration.
“When heartless criminals, sex offenders, and human traffickers illegally enter the United States and get away, they prey on our children, the most vulnerable members of our communities,” USBP El Centro Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino wrote in a social media post featuring the video.

Illegal border crossings have fallen to the lowest levels in recorded history under the Trump administration.
