A pair of illegal aliens have been charged with kidnapping after underage girls from North Carolina were rescued in Florida, authorities say.
On May 3, authorities in Clay County, NC, were notified by parents that their daughters, ages 14 and 15, had gone missing.
The girls penned a note saying they were leaving with “some guys they met,” Fox 35 reports.
Neither teen was carrying a cell phone when they disappeared.
Investigators identified two suspects who were living in Daytona Beach, FL: Edwin Alberto Cardenas, 22, and Ericson Ullo-Flore, 18.
Authorities in Florida obtained warrants for second-degree kidnapping and found the girls unharmed at the residence of the suspects on May 5.
The victims were returned to their parents and the men were taken into custody.
