Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday the Kremlin and Donald Trump White House have reached an agreement on a prisoner exchange despite strong words from the U.S. President directed at Russian President Vladimir Putin over the weekend.
“President Trump is a man who wants results,” Lavrov said during a trip to Turkey, saying America’s efforts to broker a Ukraine-Russia peace deal are being “sabotaged” by European nations.
“He sees some of the Europeans are working to sabotage his efforts [on peace]… of course, he gets emotional, and, of course, as someone who does not like anything to stand in the way of his noble goals, he looks at it a certain way,” Lavrov said, according to Russian news outlet TASS.
No details of the alleged prisoner swap were released by Lavrov or the U.S. State Department, according to NBC News.
Last week, America and Russia traded 390 prisoners in an ongoing exchange expected to reach 1,000 detainees being swapped.
As Trump and the Russians work to negotiate a peace deal despite repeated interruptions by Ukraine’s puppet leader Volodymyr Zelensky, the NATO proxy nation is said to have launched an assassination attempt targeting Putin over the weekend.
Following the reported attempt on Putin’s life, the Russians amassed 50,000 troops on the Ukrainian border in preparation for a major offensive and escalation of the war.

I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia! Likewise, President Zelenskyy is doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop. This is a War that would never have started if I were President. This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not ‘Trump’s,’ I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred.”
On Tuesday, POTUS warned Putin he’s “playing with fire” by escalating the war, writing, “What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD.”
Germany on Monday greenlit Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike deeper into Russia, with Chancellor Friedrich Merz saying, “There are no longer any range restrictions on weapons delivered to Ukraine – neither by the British nor by the French nor by us nor by the Americans.”
Globalist French President Emmanuel Macron claimed on Tuesday that Donald Trump has finally come to the conclusion that Putin doesn’t really want to reach a peace deal, telling the press, “President Trump realizes that when President Putin said on the phone he was ready for peace, or told his envoys he was ready for peace, he lied.”
