Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents led a huge immigration raid on a construction site in Florida on Thursday.
More than 100 illegal aliens were detained as part of the raid in Tallahassee.
The aliens came mostly from Latin America—from Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Colombia and Honduras—and some had criminal records and had already been deported before.
According to The Tallahassee Democrat, “Officers reportedly checked every individual’s identification and permits before releasing or detaining them.”
Another construction site nearby was raided an hour before.
The raids come in the wake of April’s “Operation Tidal Wave,” which netted 1,120 illegals in Florida, the state’s single largest immigration enforcement operation. Operation Tidal Wave lasted six days and covered 13 counties.
According to Gov. Ron DeSantis, those arrested included 437 illegals from Guatemala, 280 from Mexico, 153 from Honduras, 48 from Venezuela, 24 from El Salvador and 178 from elsewhere.
