A Guatemalan illegal alien who was released into the U.S. by the Biden administration has been arrested for beating his own newborn baby to death on Long Island, NY, according to reports.
Marlon Rabanales-Pretzantzin, 20, was taken into custody on Wednesday amid an investigation into the killing of a 2-month-old baby girl on March 7 at a residence in Inwood, a hamlet in Nassau County.
Authorities received a 911 call at around 10:40 p.m. that night and officers responded to a report about a child who was choking after “rolling off the bed,” the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) explained in a press release.
The child was rushed a local hospital and then transferred to another hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
“Further investigation revealed that the infant was the victim of an assault which caused her fatality. The infant has been identified as Liseyda Rabanales – Barrios,” NCPD said.
The infant had suffered horrific injuries prior to her death, including a fractured spinal cord, subcranial bleeding, and broken ribs, which were allegedly inflicted when Rabanales-Pretzantzin shook, threw, and punched her, according to a criminal complaint.
During questioning, Rabanales-Pretzantzin reportedly changed his initial story, confessing to investigators that he had beaten the baby because he resented her and didn’t believe he was the father.
“He admitted to us what had happened with the baby, how he abused it physically, how he felt the child wasn’t his and how he did not respect or want that child,” NCPD Capt. Stephen Fitzpatrick stated during a press conference. “He hit the child several times around the head and face. He threw the child on the ground.”
Rabanales-Pretzantzin was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol in 2022 after illegally crossing the southern border into El Paso, TX.
He was then released into the interior before making his way to Virginia and eventually New York.
“What he did to this kid is unthinkable,” Capt. Fitzpatrick fumed.
“We are all quite upset about this arrest and infuriated that this individual was even in this country to begin with.”
Rabanales-Pretzantzin pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder on Thursday.
A 1-year-old boy found at the home was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
