A Colorado woman was killed by an unlicensed, uninsured teenage illegal alien who will serve no prison time despite traveling more than twice the speed limit at the time of the deadly collision, according to reports.
The horrifying wreck unfolded in July of 2024 in Aurora, a hotbed for illegal aliens and Tren de Aragua gangbangers.
Kaitlyn Weaver, 24, was heading home from her job at a drug rehab center when a 15-year-old illegal alien traveling nearly 100 mph t-boned her on a road where the speed limit was 45 mph.
Weaver, who was reportedly on the phone with her boyfriend at the time of the crash, suffered devastating injuries and was removed from life support two days later.
Footage of the collision and aftermath was obtained by CBS News Colorado.
The teen, who was reportedly joyriding with friends in his mother’s Jeep, was charged with vehicular homicide.
Kaitlyn’s father John says his family was assured by the Arapahoe District Attorney’s Office that maximum sentencing would be pursued in the case, but after Democrat Amy Padden became district attorney in January, her office significantly softened its approach.
The teen was offered two years of probation and community service if he pleaded guilty.
“The Weavers say the prosecutor didn’t speak at the sentencing and the defendant never apologized for taking their daughter’s life,” CBS reports.
“In addition to 100 hours of community service, the teen is required to attend school and not break any laws.”
Despite the Weavers racking up nearly $1 million in medical bills, neither the teen nor his family will be financially liable, and because the teen borrowed his mother’s vehicle without permission, she will not be held accountable.
Incredibly, the teen recently applied for asylum in the U.S. rather than be sent by his mother back to his home country of Colombia.
“Immigration and the criminal justice system and all these things landed together one day in Aurora and now I sit here today without a daughter,” John Weaver said.
“I hope that he makes something of himself and that he remembers the chance he got and I hope that he doesn’t forget her.”
Colorado became a sanctuary for criminal illegal aliens in 2019.
