Infowars host Alex Jones joined The Benny Johnson Show Tuesday morning where he called on the Trump administration’s Department of Justice to look into the brutal slaying of top Infowars writer Jamie White.
Jones asked the DOJ to divert resources to solving the journalist’s death, as Austin police admit the department is severely understaffed, adding he suspects it may have been a hit job.
“Bless you and thanks for caring about [Jamie] – because…a journalist has been killed. It should be investigated,” Jones told Johnson.
Jones continued: “I think [US Attorney General] Pam Bondi should look into it. The Austin Police Department admitted they’re totally overwhelmed. They said they can’t really respond to most crime scenes.”
“I’m asking the Trump administration – this is important – it’s a journalist that’s been killed. It needs to be investigated.”

Jones went on to speculate Jamie’s death may have been a “hit job” considering the Austin metro area’s large population and the writer’s highly influential journalism.
“There’s a chance, good chance, it could be [a hit job],” Jones told Johnson. “The more I’m talking about it, the more I’m thinking about it, a lot of smart people are calling me saying, ‘Alex, This is…eight people have been killed the last two months here since the first of the year. Okay? What are the chances in a town of over two million people that an Infowars lead reporter gets butchered?”
“So, we need to investigate this. I’m asking the Justice Department to investigate.”
Police have not yet named suspects in White’s murder nearly 36 hours after the incident, with APD asking for anyone with details to call the Homicide Tip Line at 512-477-3588.
Several of Jamie’s articles were cited and landed him on a Ukrainian kill list last July, prompting some to speculate about a possible Ukraine connection to the murder.
Jones also discussed the Ukrainian kill list on the Tuesday edition of The Alex Jones Show.
Jones’ request for the Justice Department to investigate Jamie’s killing comes as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Tuesday weighed in on the tragic death, pledging to work with Texas’ Congress to pass legislation requiring judges to revoke bail to suspects accused of capital murder.
