Jeff Metcalf, the father of Texas teenager Austin Metcalf who was stabbed in the heart and killed at a high school track meet earlier this month, was the victim of a hoax 911 swatting call Thursday night.
ABC 8 reported Metcalf confirmed police were called to his home but that nobody was at the residence at the time.
The incident took place just hours after the father had the police called on him for showing up to a press conference held by representatives of his son’s alleged murderer Karmelo Anthony, who admitted to stabbing Austin at the high school track meet.
Jeff Metcalf was removed from the press conference after a group advocating for Anthony requested law enforcement force him to leave.
The activist who leads the group bizarrely claimed the father’s presence at the presser “was disrespectful” and showed poor “character.”
“He was not invited,” the activist, who is also a serial criminal, told the audience. “He knows that it is inappropriate to be near this family, but he did it. And, so I say to people, actions speak louder than words. What he has failed into is the political operatives that wanna make these thing a political thing of hate, yet bigotry and yet racism. We have conservative operatives that have been posting nonstop about this case.” [sic]
Metcalf was filmed stating at the event, “I am not here to create a disturbance. I’m just here to stand by and witness this press conference.”
Legal commentator Nancy Grace covered the swatting incident on her show, with investigative reporter Dave Mack detailing how police officers responded to a phony 911 call where an individual claimed “somebody had been shot in the mouth” at the Metcalf residence.
The officers used a drone to fly into the house and inspect the situation, ultimately clearing the home after finding no signs of a shooting.
The sickening swatting of grieving parents comes after a slew of similar hoax police calls targeted pro-Trump commentators last month.
Multiple Infowars reporters were victims of the terrorist campaign where leftists tried to get prominent conservatives and their families shot by law enforcement, also putting responding officers in danger and keeping them from addressing real crimes.
The twisted people behind the calls have also been sending pizza orders to individuals in the name of recently-murdered Infowars writer Jamie White.
Trump administration FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced in an 𝕏 post on Tuesday that he’s instructed his team to double their efforts to locate the people or groups behind the recent swatting spree.
“SWATTING is deadly serious,” he stated. “The potential for serious injury or death is high. I’ve asked our team to double efforts to locate the people and/or groups behind it. I’m on the road in our field offices handling other sensitive matters but I’ll be monitoring progress and I hope to have some updates soon.”
