President Trump should offer to peacefully repatriate aliens who are willing to leave the country before crackdowns intensify, investigative journalist Eduardo Neret told immigration news outlet Border Hawk during a recent interview.
The administration could establish a process whereby foreign nationals who are present in the U.S. either illegally or under tenuous circumstances can effectively self-deport with the assistance of the federal government.
Neret, a former producer for Tucker Carlson Tonight, says Trump should hold a national broadcast translated into multiple languages, directed at illegals, as well as those who entered the U.S. via various Biden parole programs.
Neret presented a sample message the President could deliver:
Look, many of you have been allowed into this country during the last administration, you’ve been allowed to work here, etc. This policy is changing. Don’t make it harder on yourself.
For those who come forward and volunteer to leave now, we will help fly you back to whatever country of your choice. We will take this into consideration for future attempts to enter this country legally, but don’t make this harder than it has to be.
We are committed to removing every illegal alien from this country and we will ultimately get there. Any attempts to resist or circumvent immigration law will be met with the full force of the Department of Justice.
Neret believes the logistics of rounding up millions of illegals present a major hurdle for the administration if the end goal is to actually carry out mass deportations well beyond the current “Worst First” policy.
Roughly 14,000 aliens were removed from the U.S. during the first three weeks of President Trump’s second term, most of whom had criminal records, according to Border Czar Tom Homan.
